ARECIBO had unique ability to blast high-wattage S-band (2.4 GHz) microwave radiation out onto orbiting target objects and then capture reflections, a kind of mapping RADAR. With the takedown of ARECIBO this useful ability was extinguished, precluding study of near-Earth passing objects (if outerspace is indeed real). Has there been any activity at Greenback to install a replacement capability to blast-out to do RADAR-mapping?
